Oct 1, 2008 - You are right under time of extreme diress the Speaker of the House does have the ability to declare a state of Martial Law in the house..to aid in bypassing certain time limits and REGULATIONS pertaining to laws set forth by the people aka voted on. It is simply a LAW that allows our Armed Services the ability to "ASSIST" our Civil Servents in the case they are overwhelmed or unprepared.PERIOD! My point is that people have taken a declaration of martial law in congress and turned it into a Martial Law declaration for the United States Citizens which it was not. But as of the date of this posting they slammed it in backwards throught the Senate which is a violation of Article I, Section 7 of the US Constitution go read that!!! The Senate had no legal right to re-introduce the same bill!!!
